Recorded a little video for posterity today to show how Archaos is running on an iPad 1 – as you can see, it’s very smooth and playable. There are still some optimisations I could make to the clipping code, but even with the current fairly inoptimal method of clipping, large boards such as 50×50 are perfectly playable on an original iPad.

I know I’m not technically a ‘Darlingtonian’ but I do know the place well, and I’m really looking forward to getting involved with some movie making for this (it’s about time I cracked out the 5D mkII, especially now it has a proper manual mode for the video!) so expect something soon (people still waiting for the Chaos stuff can collectively groan at this point – sorry!)
